The Great Escape Festival First 50 2019 Acts + November Dates - Music News
The Great Escape has revealed the FIRST FIFTY acts to play the 2019 festival with a one of a kind live launch, across 6 venues over 3 days in East London. Taking place from 27-29 November 2018 showcasing some of the world’s finest emerging acts. Tickets for each gig are only £5 and can be bought here.

The Great Escape, the festival for new music, will be kicking off festival season by playing host to over 450 up and coming artists and music-led convention across 35 walk-able venues from 9-11 May 2019 in Brighton, England. Today’s announcement reveals the internationally renowned festival’s FIRST FIFTY artists who are set to take The Great Escape 2019 by storm. Tickets start from £60 and are on sale here.

TUESDAY 27 NOVEMBER

London In Stereo will take over The Curtain LP Room with 19-year-old soul singer Jvck James, singer-songwriter Kara Marni and London alt-pop duo Wooze providing the freshest new music.

Over at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen, Live Nation Source will host a huge night with the hottest new names. There will be performances from Peckham’s masked drill artist Kwengface, Belgian hip-hop project Blackwave complete with a live jazz band, and singer and multi-instrumentalist Ren.

Dork will take up residency at The Old Blue Last, kicking off night one with former Fish Tank frontman Ed The Dog, Cardiff-based indie band Himalayas and Stockport psychedelic pop five-piece Fuzzy Sun.

CLASH take over The Courtyard Theatre with indie-goodness Kawala, Australian pop artist Jeffe and modern-day pop anthem maker Millie Turner.

So Young will be bring heavier riffs to The Macbeth with Brighton locals Squid, hazy grunge girl band Krush Puppies and the romantic, multi-instrumentalist, Emerson Snowe.

Zigrid Von Underbelly will be home to Amazing Radio’s pop sounds with the young Casey Lowry, British pop prodigy Emily Burns and Askjell.

WEDNESDAY 28 NOVEMBER

Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen joins forces with Metropolis to deliver an eclectic mix of new music from contemporary folk artist Mathilda Homer, R&B singer-songwriter Rebecca Garton and Brighton rap sensation Bobbie Johnson.

The Old Blue Last is set to showcase the very best in brand new, pure pop music. Hailing from Iceland, Briet has been making waves with her cool electro-pop sound following the release of ‘In Too Deep’ earlier this year. She will be joined by Irish singer-songwriter JC Stewart, and the multi-talented Shey Baba.

BBC Music Introducing will be playing intro to dirty pop band Indoor Pets at The Courtyard Theatre, as well as indie starlet Zuzu and Glaswegian indie-pop band Lucia.

The Macbeth put on an eclectic night of music with R&B powerhouse Duendita, experimental pop duo Jockstrap and new wave Glasgow quintet Walt Disco.

THURSDAY 29 NOVEMBER

Ticketmaster New Music takes over the Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen as Deptford nu jazz collective Steam Down, electro-funk trio Radiant Children and hotly tipped London hip-hop artist Tiana Major 9 take to the stage.

UPSET has curated an epic final night at The Old Blue Last, with Scandinavian industrialists SKYND who collaborated with Korn’s Jonathan Davis on their second single, Brighton grunge trio Sick Joy and the hypnotic pop-rock four-piece Penelope Isles.

The Courtyard Theatre will be taken over by NOTION with emerging talent youngsters including poetic singer-songwriter Connie Constance, Slow Club’s Rebecca Taylor’s solo project Self Esteem and sonic snapshotter L Devine.

The Macbeth plays host to DIY’s hot tips for 2019 with the infectious indie rock & roll band Fontaines DC, post-punk influenced The Howl and The Hum and Brighton duo Chappaqua Wrestling.

Over at Zigfrid Von Underbelly pop busker Sam Tompkins will be taking the stage, followed by soulful R&B singer Nia Wyn and choral hymn singer Dayo Bello.

Furthermore, Dboy, bea1991, Pip Blom, Crack Cloud and Juniore will also be joining The Great Escape 2019 line-up.

TGE 2019 CONFERENCE NEWS – THE FESTIVAL FOR NETWORKING

The Great Escape can also reveal that The Jury’s Inn Brighton Waterfront will be the official delegate and conference hotel for the 2019 festival. Next year, The Great Escape’s core music conferences and networking events will take place under one roof, from Wednesday 8 May – Saturday 11 May 2019. Hotel rooms at the Jury’s Inn Brighton Waterfront are available now and can be booked via The Great Escape website.
